Strength, resilience, love …
Jewellery has always been synonymous with symbolism and resonant with meaning - often traditionally used to convey a covert message to the recipient. These days the symbolism is overt - even more so when people are buying jewellery for themselves - not only do consumers want to buy a piece of jewellery that means something to them, they also want to show it off and to invite conversation.
You’ll have seen a growing trend for symbolic pieces of jewellery over the past few seasons - the Evil Eye and Hamsa symbols, signs of the Zodiac, the horseshoe and four-leafed clover,
crystals resonant with positive energy and ancient Celtic symbols given a new twist. Let your customers embrace the talismanic nature of jewellery with these three brands at Showcase 2024.

Cosmic Boulevard
Founded in 2017, Cosmic Boulevard is a fine jewellery brand of beautifully crafted pieces that are made in the Dublin workshop of Sinéad Murphy. Murphy has a background in fine art and makeup and her brand was forged out of her passion for making. She is passionate about ethics and sustainability and works primarily with recycled metals and ethically sourced stones.
Using a rainbow of stones, opals and lustrous pearls, Murphy incorporates iconic symbols into her jewellery such as stars, planets, waning moons and even UFOs. At January’s Showcase you’ll find dainty gold stars, gemstone UFO rings, silver and gold pendants and signet rings.

Andrea Mears
Irish jeweller Andrea Mears makes all of her jewellery by hand in her Limerick studio. Her latest pieces are inspired by the night sky, the symbolism of the eye and ideas of togetherness and protection. Her collection also includes a beautiful piece in the shape of an acorn symbolising strength, growth and potential.
A key new piece you’ll find at Showcase 2024 is Mears’ Under the Same Stars design. The Under the Same Stars collection is designed to remind the wearer that no matter how far apart they may be from a loved one, we are all under the same sky at night and all wish upon the same stars. The necklace, bracelets and earrings are made in 9ct gold and sterling silver.
Another key piece is her Eye of Protection design in 9ct gold and sterling silver. A common talisman in cultures throughout the world, the eye protects the wearer from harm. In Mears’ design, the eye represents projection and manifestation, while the pyramid with sun rays represents enlightenment.

Little Light Design
Little Light founder, Ceìiliì Flood, was inspired to create her range of jewellery following the death of her brother-in-law after a long struggle with mental health issues. Inspired by the jewellery her sister was gifted after her husband’s death, Flood realised how resonant and evocative jewellery can be, how each piece can have a special meaning and how jewellery can allow the wearer to feel beautiful and empowered and to share their story through the pieces they choose to wear.
Designed to be a reflection of the wearer’s individual style and personal journey, Little Light pieces carry names such as Go-Getter, Soul Sister, Grief, Nurture and Pause. Most of the pieces are made from 14ct gold plated sterling silver.
